WELCOME TO THE MONKEY
This is very strange...I feel like a little tiny fish in a big f#@*&!g ocean. An electronic ocean, no less.
Yes, I fear the box. It is cube-shaped with a screen, and therefor suspicious. But some of the monkeys got together, took a vote when I wasn't looking, and announced to me in the last board meeting that they wanted to talk on the box. So, here we are.
It is odd to look at a list of color templates and ask myself "which one is more monkey?" How can one measure or define what monkey is? What is the essence of monkey? Is it, as some would say, the new hip color for spring? Or is it more than that? Is monkey just a trend, or is it a Way of Life? Can one even begin to understand, to intellectually contain, the idea of monkey-ness? Or are we simply too close to the source, so to speak? Is it possible to sprout a pair of meta-physical eye stalks to turn back upon ourselves, to look and really see what the monkey is actually doing? Or would that be too painful, too demeaning, too 'dehumanizing' if you will? Perhaps the question is SHOULD we even consider considering such a thing, or does the defining element of monkey lie within its mystery, its unknowability, its Russian doll stacking enigmatic nature?
It is hard to say, really. There is a shibboleth, I'm sure, of French philosophical words which could state the quandary in much more precise and eloquent language, but alas... I see no monkeys wearing berets, looking smug behind their dark glasses while they sip their coffee. Well, there's that one, but he's not talking.
But look at them...have you seen what they do? Have you ever just sat and watched their behavior as a disinterested observer? It's fascinating, really. If you're feeling really meta, you can watch monkeys watching monkeys. Or, if you're feeling really REALLY meta, you can watch the monkey watching you.
Certainly it can be said that I have concentrated my rather disoriented efforts here focusing on all aspects monkey, completely leaving out any reference to chaos. Am I remiss in my choices this overcast...Wednesday?...Wednesday. afternoon? But really, what could be said about it? Whenever you have monkey, the chaos is always implied.
